A NEW DAWN OF BUSINESS SOFTWARE

Tencia is Arrow Research Corporation’s latest product, and the next dimension in business connectivity and agility. Over the years, the underlying architecture of Arrow Financials has proven to be very reliable and durable. The ease of operation of both Visual Arrow and ArrowSQL has been a feature of all product versions.

When considering future requirements of the new system, Arrow realised the need to develop a new architecture that reflects the Internet driven 24/7 online world, providing realtime, anywhere, anytime information.

The Tencia product is the result of these considerations.

Tencia is an N-Tier .NET application, designed to take the best of Visual Arrow SQL’s current functionality (developed over 17 years in the marketplace), plus thousands of new features, incorporating them into a state of the art business solution, utilising Extensible Mark-up Language (XML) and Web Services (WCF), within Microsoft’s .Net framework.

Tencia offers the potential for uniting information over disparate applications, bridging the gap between different systems, platforms, and languages, streamlining communication between suppliers, customers and piers.

The User Experience:

• Fully integrated user interface. There will be no obvious switching between modules or applications (Tencia’s or otherwise).
• Tencia extends the Microsoft Office experience into its workspace, ensuring that it’s simple to navigate and fast and easy to learn.
• Not only can all office programs be embedded within the Tencia user interface, but any .EXE .DLL or .LNK application, therefore allowing Tencia to be the user’s desktop.
• Notes and Block text are Rich Text Fields so images, variable fonts and colours can be used.
• Current shortcut lookups such as the "@" string search and the "~" category searches will work as per the Arrow Financials.
• When entries are posted to the General Ledger there is full drill down available from the General Ledger Journal back to the Source document within the existing view.
• Security is enhanced to have settings by System, Role or User. This will operate down to the code level. Security levels can be assigned to Menu programs, Fields (view or alter) and Administration tasks.
• Users will be able to alter the columns displayed, grid colours and the advanced search filters used within all inquiry programs. These filters can be saved by users for future use.
• User defaults can be setup by System, Role or User.
• Any Arrow program can be added to a list of Favourites.
